DESCRIPTION

Though Greater Seattle is home to a multitude of strip-mall Korean joints, few have as mod a dining room or as cutesy a mascot as Hae-Nam Kalbi & Calamari. Hanging above the entrance is a pudgy toque-wearing piglet with a squidy sidekick, an invitation to sample the house specialty — dwae-jee kal-bi (grilled marinated pork ribs) and oh-jing-uh-ju-mul-luck (spicy marinated squid). Also try the summery boiled whelk with noodles (a cooling salad) or the wintry mahn-doo-ghook (beef dumpling soup).
