DESCRIPTION
A café, lunch spot and specialty food store, Kathy Casey’s Ballard location offers an assortment of tasty treats. Got a hankering for rose petal syrup? Or maybe you’re looking for figs wrapped in chestnut leaves? Either way, you’ll find them here. The local food guru has stocked her store’s shelves with unique and rare products from around the globe -- and from here at home. In addition to specialty products imported from Italy, the store carries cheese from Estella Creamery, meats from Salumi and of course her very own line of Dish D’Lish products with yummy offerings such as blueberry-lavender chutney ($6.99).
Stop in for a drink -- you’ll find everything from espresso and hand-shaken lemonade to signature cocktails and wine -- or grab a sandwich, but don’t leave without dinner, especially if you’re too busy to cook. Time-pressed locals will find the store’s to-go case -- packed with entrees and sides like caramelized-onion mashed potatoes, “Mom’s meatloaf” and roast pork tenderloin -- particularly enticing.
