DESCRIPTION

This is the land of the white wedding, where service reigns supreme. The bride, rather than the dress, takes center stage, with platforms and mirrors and lots of room to twirl and dream in the airy showroom. Consultants first meet with prospective clients for at least an hour to find out what they're looking for, then invite them back to try on dresses from their high-end designer collection that includes Vera Wang, Christos, Amsale and Richard Lazaro.

On-site seamstresses work hard to make sure each creation is perfectly tailored. You'll feel so comfortable here that you won't want to leave — so it's a good thing that Marcella's carries all the accessories you could want, such as lingerie, veils and gloves.

This is not the place for the impetuous bride, however. Orders take four to six months.

TIP: Trunk shows are big news here. When the designer rep comes to town, samples go on sale and everything in that line goes for 10 percent off — a hefty discount for dresses that start around $2,000. Check the Web site for upcoming events.

AVOID doing business here1
Posted on 05/06/2009
When looking for a wedding dress, take your business elsewhere as buying a dress at Marcella's La Boutique is NOT worth your time. I also had Leah when purchasing my dress and that was the last I saw of her. During my first fitting, they were not willing to be flexible with their fitting times nor did they want me to have my first dress fitting until a month before my July wedding. After coercing them to let me have my fitting, there was a stain on my dress that was definitely not there when I purchased it. Needless to say, they have been trying to put the blame on me saying that I purchased the dress knowing the stain was there. I have pictures that clearly show no stain on the dress and I plan on taking them to small claims court. Please go elsewhere to purchase your dress!!

The right consultant is key!4

What made my experience positive was having the best consultant. I worked w/ Leah from the start. After trying on about 10 dresses (she was extremely patient and fun to work with) Leah pulled a dress that from the back that was perfect. She knew just what accessories to pair with it and was not afraid to give me an honest opinion. I can honestly say she was the best because I was forced to work with another girl when Leah left briefly for another job. The girl was horrible! My alterations went well, although they were minimal. REQUEST LEAH! Otherwise go to Bridal Garden in Kirkland and work with Kitty. She was so nice I felt guilty not buying my dress there!

Messed up a custom order and did not correct1
Posted by BumbleBear on 12/26/2008
I purchased a bridesmaid dress from Marcella's for my highschool senior homecoming dance. Marcella's staff was delightful, helping me find the right dress. I specifically requested extra length, which for Waters&Waters would be another 6 inches. I am tall and needed the length. Three months later the dress arrived, without the extra length. Marcella refused to correct the mistake. Instead, she raised her voice and became very condescending. She said, "Let me speak to your mother!" as if she was going to "put me in my place". I was shocked. I had worked a grocery bagging job a little above minimum wage to buy the $320 dress. My mother was not buying the dress, I was! When I married my highschool sweetheart six years later, I purchased a gorgeous Vera Wang ball gown and happily did not buy it through Marcella's. Be forewarned! Travel if you must!!
