DESCRIPTION

Tucked away under the onramp to the Magnolia Bridge, Bedrock Industries recycles tons of used glass into new tiles, garden and gift items. Creative types head to Bedrock's factory outlet store to find goodies for all types of projects. Here they'll find huge tubs of loose tumbled, colored glass, heart-shaped "lovestones" in varying shades of reds and pinks, and glossy Blazestone tiles in a range of greens. Retail outlets sell the same and similar items for twice the price and more.

Bedrock's stone yard also includes all sorts of rocks, remnant granite slabs and the occasional concrete garden bench or birdbath. Large, colored glass mobiles featuring geometric shapes are new this spring and serve as beautiful garden accents when hung from tree branches. Some are ready-made or you can pick up the individual pieces and make one yourself (large pieces start at just $7 each). Tumbled glass and mosaic pieces are just $4 a pound, and can be used in walkways, around fountains, in stepping stones and garden walls, or to fill vases. Granite slab remnants are only 30 cents a pound; use them for outdoor table tops.
