DESCRIPTION
In the middle of fashion no-man's-land you'll find Olive, a convenient and friendly boutique that opened in December 2006. The fashion haven is sandwiched between a Starbucks and Quizno's Subs in the Redmond Ridge QFC/Trilogy Shopping Centers where owners Michele Fox and Kerrie Lynn Wilton hope to attract suburban Eastsiders from cities such as Duvall, Woodinville and Carnation. The interior is more urban than suburban with finished concrete floors, an open ceiling with an exposed HVAC system painted charcoal gray, sage green walls and prominent iron chandeliers.
Comfort is key here, but without giving up style. You'll find flowy, casual knits with beautiful drape, like Susana Monaco tops and dresses ($120-$398) which can be dressed up or down; beautiful basics from Rebecca Beeson ($50-$168); Aqua VI T's ($50-$60) printed with skulls, anchors and Fleur-de-Lis; edgy hoodies from 2 B Free with intricate screen printed designs ($198); and sophisticated tank tops and dresses by Tocca ($178-$300). They also carry about a half dozen lines of premium denim ($157-$200) including Hudson, Genetic, Chip and Pepper, Rock Revival, Ranahan and locally designed Pine IV (which, by the way, have an excellent fit). For women who prefer a higher rise, ask for the Jag or Worn brands that run $78.
Fox and Wilton are big supporters of locally made and locally designed fashion. Along with Pine IV denim, they carry super-soft and forgiving knitwear from Lizze Parker, Farinaz Taghavi's fashionable knit tops, bandless timepieces from Tutu Time, and cashmere from Portland designer Souchi.
