I could have headlined this blog entry with any number of terrible double entendres. I could have said "Ballard is getting Vain" or "Ballard receives a Vain effort" and slept well tonight, because I would be speaking the literal truth. Vain has opened a new branch on Ballard Avenue, and there is an awful lot of vanity on display in Ballard's bars and restaurants these days. (You know who you are, sweetness.)

Seattleās fashion-forward will line up early Sunday, Sept. 16 for Thread, a jazzed-up sample sale complete with cocktails, DJs and artist exhibitions. Last year, more than 100 people queued up outside Fremont Studios for a chance to be among the first through the door -- the first 250 attendees receive a gift bag. This year, the bags' contents are reported to include swag from American Apparel and Vain.
