"Despite their somewhat large physiques, they still get cold during the winter," says Dhillon. "It was very difficult to find clothing that fit their bigger personalities and big chests. I began to realize the lack of fashionable big-dog clothing available. The little dog market is flooded with every type of silly to fashionable type of clothing you can think of, but it's difficult to find fashionable clothing suited for big dogs."

May we interest you in a glass of "Pignot" Noir? In honor of the Pike Place Market Centennial – and the Chinese Zodiac Calendar, which names 2007 the Year of the Pig (or boar, to be historically correct) – Northwest Cellars just released "Rachel Red," a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (51 percent), Merlot (25 percent) and Cabernet Franc (24 percent).

Zahara Jolie-Pitt and Suri Cruise may not be old enough to tie their own shoes, but their good taste in footwear is already making headlines. While they're years away from sporting Jimmy Choos, the paparazzi are already snapping photos of their little feet snugly fitted in shoes by See Kai Run, a local company that produces footwear for babies and children ages six months and up.

Hair, nails, massage – why do bridesmaids get to have all the fun? While most men I know wouldn't be caught dead in a beauty salon as a part of a pre-wedding groomsmen get-together, spending a few hours at the barbershop is an entirely different story – especially if it's a place with leather furniture and a big-screen TV. Known for unique and slightly wacky handmade bath and body products that are both fun to use and good enough to eat (exhibit A: the "Mange Too" bar – an edible massage bar flavored and scented with honey, vanilla, sweet orange and peppermint), Lush will make its Seattle debut Saturday, March 10, when it opens the doors to its newest store in Westlake Center.

St. Patrick's Day is right around the corner – an occasion for soda bread, ale and green clothing, of course. But what about a lucky piece of Celtic jewelry? GaelSong, a local seller of all things Celtic, recently closed the doors to its Ravenna storefront and launched an Internet site. I took a fresh look at the Seattle-based e-tailer and found some gorgeous items fit for March 17, or any day of the year.

Every year when April rolled around, my mother used to turn our house into a veritable Easter basket. There were painted eggs, stuffed bunnies, and table centerpieces decorated with daffodils and chickadees. While I tend to avoid any kind of cutesy décor in my own home, I do like to embrace the season with a little whimsy. But finding tasteful items can be tough, especially for spring.
