In meeting an often-voiced wish for a cocktail menu, Cafe Flora has made booze almost healthy. Beginning in December, Flora will serve up cocktails that are made with top-shelf liquor, infused with locally grown produce, and mixed into tonics that are almost too wonderful to pour down your gullet. Hey, nothing goes better with healthy vegetarian meals than healthy vegetarian booze.

There's no reason to spend the entirety of this upcoming Thanksgiving weekend watching Rankin-Bass cartoons in a tryptophan stupor. There's nothing wrong with doing that, but if you'd like to get out of the house and listen to some great stuff, this post-turkey/Tofurkey weekend is a feast of tasty musical options.

Pike Place Market provides us with fruit, vegetables, artisan cheese and local wine. Now, through the good graces of two of its best restaurant/lounges -- the Pink Door and the Can-Can -- the Market gives us something to do with our otherwise pointless Monday and Thursday nights.

Though the two bands are based hundreds of miles apart as the semi rolls -- Drive By Truckers are from Athens, Georgia and The Hold Steady from Brooklyn by way of Minneapolis -- you wouldn't know it to listen to them. Musically,The Hold Steady and Drive-By Truckers could be parked two feet apart.
