Chocolate Muck Muck makes dining alone divine

November 14, 2007

Chocolate Muck Muck

Lara Ferroni

Chocolate Muck Muck, at Greenwood's Carmelita.

Eating alone is tedious. After all, how long can you admire the art on a restaurant's walls, or stare at your own wine glass? But there is one major upside to dining solo: There's no need to share a single crumb of your dessert. So when you find yourself alone for the evening, head straight to Carmelita in Greenwood and slide your spoon into the Chocolate Muck Muck, a dark, rich sunken chocolate cake that's just the right amount of crusty on the outside and oozing with warm, gooey good stuff inside. A tangy compote of seasonal fruit -- right now, sweet-tart cranberries -- cleanses the palette for your next dive into the scrumptious muck. Suddenly, dining alone doesn't seem quite so bad after all.

What do you crave? Which local restaurant makes the dessert that drives you to distraction? Post a comment below and tell us about it.
