Dog groomer?

Does anyone know of a dog groomer in Ballard or Crown Hill? I live close to the Locks and I just can't believe with all the dogs in Ballard, there is no local pet groomer! Any suggestions please?!

Most vets offer grooming services.

I usually go to the local Petco in Ballard. It is affordable and the girls there are really nice and do a good job. They have a window so you can watch them cut a few dogs or even watch your own. I don't always like how long it takes -4-5 hours but that may be normal.
Whatever you do, don't go to Ridlows Grooming. It is disgusting and dirty! They also own the local Ballard Pet Store which buys from puppy mills.

I've never had luck with Petco. The one in the U District is just plan scary (their groomers look like meth users) and the last time I took him to the one in Ballard, he came back sick.

Any other suggestions? I can't believe it's this hard.

Lookin' good groomers on 24th are good. Google them, they'll pop up

Thanks, yo. I'll try that.

You might want to try PETDADDY in Greenlake...their prices are afforable and you can usually get in with in 4 days...Happy grooming:)

I like The Wash Dog In West Seattle, they always do a good job and they aren't too pricey.

DO NOT take your dog to PETCO, at least not the one in the Udistrict or West Seattle, I have a 5 pound Yorkie and they told me he was too unrully to cut the top of his head, so they left it long...plus I have heard other horrible stories. No other groomer has had any problems cutting my yorkies hair.

I take my dog to the Grooming Shack on Phinney/Greenwood at about the cross street of 70th. I know it's a ways from the locks, but Kim the groomer there is awesome, and she's done a great job on my chow border collie mix. She's shares the space with the Rub-a-dub Dog

I take my dog to Blue Ribbon pet salon in Mulkatio. Jennifer does my dog's hair. She if fabulous. It only takes two hours for cut, shampoo, gland, ears & nails. It only takes 25 minutes from Kenmore. I won't take my dog anywhere else. I'm just sorry I didn't know about the Blue Ribbon sooner. I took my dog to petsmart in woodinville for a long time. It took them 6-6 1/2 hours before they were done and my dog was so stressed. I felt so bad leaving her there. I would never let her go through something like that again. PetSmart also charges you for every little thing. The Blue Ribbon is very reasonable.

Stop wasting money on these 'professional' groomers. If they don't personally know your dogs, how are they able to connect with your dogs and really understand their grooming needs?

Do you trust just anybody with your own hair? Would you let a stranger wash and groom your children? The answers are obvious.

And do you know your dog could be mistreated or teased when staying at some scary salon?

It's time to do it yourself:

Don't be lazy. Your dogs will appreciate your effort.

I wouldnt use PetCo...I should know, I used to groom for them a long time ago. Lots of abuse which inspired me to start my own grooming bussiness working with dogs traumatized by abusive groomers....lol

Bonnie The Groomer on Capitol Hill is worth the drive...grooms very professionally. My 'drama queen' of a Shiba looks forward to visits with Bonnie.

Some of us have tried to groom thier own dog. I wash my own dog all the time and brush him, but when it comes to trimming his hair this is a task I cannont do. For the good of my dog, I take him in every couple months to get his hair cut. AND for your questions, no I do not trust anyone with my own hair, I trust MY hair stylist! And I have found the same for my dog. So don't be rude, we aren't lazy we are doing this FOR our dog.

Kristy's Grooming at Capitol Hill is the only place I will take my dog to. They are not cheap but I don't think they are that expensive either. I just know that my dog is always taken cared of and my bichon will always look like a bichon.
