Welcome to the Ballard / Crown Hill forum
Hey, thanks for stopping by the NWsource forum, where the folks are friendly, the conversation is lively and the drinks are cheap. Oops, sorry, wrong place.
Nonetheless, just like a good local watering hole, this forum is a good spot to meet other Seattleites, share ideas and opinions, recommend or defend your favorites and generally hold forth about whatever's on your mind.
There's no bouncer around here, and we don't require shoes or shirt to enter, but there are a couple of rules: One, don't be mean. Two, don't post ads. We've got Classifieds for that. If you have any questions about what's OK and what isn't, check out our Terms of Service.
We'll drop in occasionally to see how you're doing, and if you have questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us. We'll do whatever we can to help. Cheers!

Post a commentHello my NW brothers and sisters. I am returning home after moving away in 95. I need to find affordable(yes, I said the "A" word) housing in Ballard in July. Any ideas on where to look/who to talk to beyond the obvious "lists"?
Affordable housing in Ballard, no such thing any more! Ballard WAS such a great place to live, now just a haven for condo's.
If you want affordable then Ballard is probably not the place to look. Things have changed and Ballard is expensive. However if you are set on living in Ballard, I would look at the huge apts located directly across from the Ballard Locks - lots of availability there. There are many apts located on the side streets outside of Market - typically small and locally owned. Also, I would drive around the area itself and look for various room rentals. If you are buying, lots of people seem to be selling their homes in the neighborhood but they are running at about 550 - 1.5 million. Good luck!
