There's more to Seattle Center than the Space Needle. The 74-acre grounds are home to plenty of diversions, from a sci-fi museum to an old-fashioned amusement park.
Center House Theatre (Seattle Center) (Queen Anne/Seattle Center)
This venue is home to the Book-It Repertory Theatre, a group that got its start in 1990 as a company of actors touring the state.
The Children's Museum (Queen Anne/Seattle Center)
Located inside the Center House, the Children's Museum features exhibits of different world cultures, all child-sized and interactive.
Experience Music Project (Queen Anne/Seattle Center)
This unique museum, housed in a blobby, swirly kaleidoscope of a building designed by Frank Gehry, is a music-lover's heaven, with its interactive exhibits, awe-inspiring artifacts and regular concert series. Regular admission's not cheap, but there's plenty to keep you occupied.
Fun Forest Amusement Park (Queen Anne/Seattle Center)
With its carnival rides, miniature golf and arcade games (complete with stuffed-animal prizes), the Fun Forest is a nostalgic journey to fun of the past.
Intiman Theatre (Queen Anne/Seattle Center)
Showcasing classics alongside works by innovative playwrights, Intiman produces about seven shows per season, including the Christmas favorite, "Black Nativity."
KeyArena (Queen Anne/Seattle Center)
Home to the NBA's SuperSonics, NHL's Thunderbirds and the WNBA's Storm, this large capacity arena also hosts entertainment events from the likes of Ben Harper to Yanni.
McCaw Hall (Queen Anne/Seattle Center)
The main performance hall for both the Pacific Northwest Ballet and the Seattle Opera, McCaw was inaugurated in 2003. It was built within the structure of the old Seattle Opera House, constructed in 1962 for the World's Fair.

Founded in 1963, the Rep is an internationally recognized non-profit resident theater; it won a Tony for Outstanding Regional Theatre in 1990.
Space Needle (Queen Anne/Seattle Center)
This observation tower, built for the World's Fair of 1962, has come to symbolize Seattle to the rest of the world. It has a restaurant and observation deck, and not surprisingly, the view from the top is amazing.
