If Macrina is on your list of errands this week, today is the day to do it. To celebrate their 15th birthday they're handing out a free brown sugar shortbread cookie to everyone who walks in the door.

I'm sure you've noticed that Seattle's attitude toward Oklahoma isn't very positive these days. A mention of Oklahoma might be followed by a strong expletive, a groan or a grim shake of the head. Because, in case you haven't been paying attention, Oklahoma is the state where our Seattle Supersonics have moved to -- or the state that stole them, depending on who you talk to. Well, here's some good news for sports fans: You have not one, but two, chances in the next few weeks to get your Oklahoma animosity out of your system.

Gentle Snark
It really doesn't seem that long ago that Gavin Rossdale of Bush -- the defunct British alternative rock band that scored vaguely Nirvana-ish hits with "Glycerine," "Comedown" and "Machinehead" -- was performing to giant halls with screaming fans and selling millions of records. In recent years, they've been the team we hate to love, a lineup flush
with nice guys who make funny commercials but finish, if not last, then
damn close.

I know you want to stare at the band with your hands in your pockets, unmoving. It's the Seattle way. But that kind of nonsense won't fly for Seattle Soundbite. A lot of good bands will be playing, and there will be excellent "street-style" food on hand to reward your other senses.

For my biscuits, the Seattle Kennel Club Dog Show (March 8 & 9) has way more to offer spectators than its bigger, flashier televised sister in New York.
