Fashion and philanthropy come together at the Thaw fashion show [0] on Thurs., May 3, at Western Bridge [0]. Put on your prettiest spring outfit and spend an evening sipping cocktails and ogling spring and summer fashions from local boutiques. Proceeds benefit the Huntington's Disease Society of America [1].
In keeping with the local flavor, independent designers from Seattle and Portland will be featured along with designers from New York and Los Angeles. Keep an eye out for some fashion-forward styles by Alula [2] from Seattle, and Portlanders Liza Rietz [3], Elizabeth Dye [4], Kate Towers [5], Souchi [6], and Dayna Pinkham [7] (who makes fabulous hats).
Both the live and silent auctions have some notable goodies you'll want to bid on including:
- Fashion Week for two in NYC, a Marc Jacobs runway show, and gift certificates to Nobu and Bliss Spa.
- A Gisele Bundchen supermodel gift bag with a Carolina Herrera handbag, Vogue sunglasses, and more.
- Marvelous accessories including jewelry, handbags, and hats from local designers Lisa Kinoshita, Kimberly Baker, Amy Tavern, Pinkham Millinery, Crystalyn Kae, and many others.
Cocktail hour and silent auction begin at 7 p.m., followed by a live auction at 8:15 and fashion show at 8:45. Tickets range from $100 to $500. A C-note will get you reserved seating, martinis, wine, nibbles, and dessert. For $500 (don't forget this is a good cause) you'll receive table seating, drinks, hors d'oeuvres and dessert, plus discounts starting at 20 percent at Tulip [7], Ericcé [7], Sway and Cake [7], Les Amis [7], Carmilia's [7], Impulse [7] and Bowie Salon [7]. All guests will receive 15 percent off at Julep Nail Parlor. Tickets are available at Tulip, Ericcé, Sway and Cake, Les Amis, Carmilia's, and Bowie Salon.
