Pink on the links

If you shop right, golf doesn't have to be a fashion faux pas

With ladies' night (Wednesdays) at Interbay Golf Center [0] and the coed miniature-golf league from Underdog Sports [1], chicks with sticks now have many opportunities to wow the boys with their fairway prowess. Unfortunately, golf fashions for women fall short. A baggy polo tucked into front-pleated shorts looks good on nobody. You hear me? Nobody.

Thankfully, girls' golf gear is moving closer to something you'd actually want to wear. With Nike and Adidas both offering women's golf apparel and footwear, the links are getting sportier and a bit more form-fitting. Even locally run Cutter & Buck [2] has partnered with golf darling Annika Sorenstam on a new line of women's golf attire.

I personally already own two pairs of pink golf shoes, so I'm not sure I can justify another pair; if I could, the Adidas Powerband golf sneaks in pink (pictured) would be my pick. The metal accents, reminiscent of irons, are a great contrast to the pastel pink of the shoes. They're available at Sweet Spot Ladies Golf [2] in Kirkland, where you can also stock up on stylish golf fashions from Bette & Court, which puts an emphasis on fit with curve-flattering designs in bold colors.
