And the award for oddest sale name goes to... Mario's [0], for its upcoming "MAR.10 spells MARIO" sale, which takes place March 1-10 at the posh downtown department store (as well as Mario's two stores in Oregon [1]).
Despite the gimmicky name, the deals and giveaways are worth a visit. Purchase more than $200 worth of merchandise during the 10-day sale and receive a gift card in the value of 10 percent of your purchases. The sale culminates March 10, when customers can spin a prize wheel for a chance to win merchandise from major labels such as Dolce & Gabbana, Prada, Armani Collezioni and more.
Mario's has partnered with charities in Portland and Seattle and will be soliciting donations to both nonprofit organizations, rewarding donors with a commemorative T-shirt emblazoned with the sale name. Seattle donations will benefit the Coyote Central Foundation [2], an organization that creates creative learning opportunities for Seattle teens. In Portland, a similar nonprofit, Children Healing Arts Project [3], will reap the benefits of benevolent shoppers.
