How People's Picks works
The annual NWsource People’s Picks contest is your opportunity to help shape your city by supporting your favorite businesses, and ensuring that they will continue to thrive. This year, our site visitors voted on their favorite local places and people in over 60 different categories, from restaurants to nightlife, travel, shopping, services and more.
Voting took place on NWsource between May 1 – June 3. Site visitors were allowed to vote in each category up to once a day. On each category page, visitors entered their votes into a text box, or chose from a random list of other readers’ suggestions.
In the few cases we weren’t able to recognize a vote as a legitimate entry, we reserved the right to discard it. NWsource further reserved the right to make final editorial decisions in cases of multiple ties. No special preference is ever given to advertisers or any business patronized by The Seattle Times Company. NWsource reserves the right to disqualify from the competition any businesses or individuals who attempt to unfairly influence the outcome.
