Your Favorite: Independent hardware store

Hardwick's

Packed floor-to-ceiling with new and used tools, drill bits, obscure doodads, hurricane lamps, scythes, antique door hardware and pretty much anything else you could ever ask for, this Roosevelt hardware store hearkens back to the era before big-box hardware and home-improvement stores. We know that you also like the helpful, friendly staff, and the fact that it's been family-owned and -operated since 1932. One reader summed it up nicely: "They have everything and know where it is!"
