This week, department-store beauty junkies will descend upon the downtown Nordstrom store for a succession of fragrance and cosmetics events, two of which feature big names from the world of beauty.
Oct. 3
To kick off National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Estee Lauder spokesperson Elizabeth Hurley will be on hand from noon to 1 p.m. to autograph Estee Lauder purchases and promote the Pink Ribbon Collection, an assortment of sweet pink lipsticks and pink-ribbon-bejeweled makeup accessories. No reservations are necessary.
Oct. 4
Twenty makeup artists from the national Trish McEvoy team will offer makeovers to Nordstrom customers after they participate in a master class taught by the line's founder, Trish McEvoy, who is perhaps most famous for her fluffy, high-quality makeup brushes. Appointments are available at 10 a.m., noon and 1:45 p.m. Call the Trish McEvoy counter (206-628-1094) to reserve your spot.
Oct. 6
From Estee Lauder's silvery gray eyes and dark red lips to MAC's plush lashes and bronzed glow, makeup artists from the various Nordstrom cosmetic counters will showcase the latest in beauty and offer makeup applications following a cosmetics trend show, which will run twice during the day in the John W. Nordstrom room on the fifth floor.
Doors open at 8 a.m. for round one, with a repeat scheduled for 11 a.m. Tickets, which include breakfast, are $15 and can be redeemed for $15 off a cosmetic purchase that day. For more information or to reserve your spot, call the Nordstrom cosmetics department at 206-628-2111. (Our tip: Appointments on Sunday will fill up fast. Call your favorite beauty counter in advance to reserve a makeup application appointment.)
