Six chandeliers grandly line the center of Stylus Salon's high ceiling. In fact, each carefully placed accoutrement -- from the appliance cabinets to the chairs -- brings functional style to the edgy new Belltown salon, the brainchild of Seattle stylists Robert Middleton (formerly of heavy-hitting local salons Gary Manuel and Halo) and Jesus Escobar.

Upstairs in the loft-like space are two rows of stations for hair services that range from cuts (starting at $45) to color (starting at $60). Helping to further the chic, arty vibe of the place is the fact that the salon doubles as a gallery, where the walls are lined with curated pieces by locals such as Ghost Gallery's Laurie Kearny.

A bar in the rear of the room that serves non-alcholic beverages during business hours and alcohol during special events, makes for a relaxed atmosphere, whether you're perusing the works on the wall or reading a magazine under the drier.

Follow the artwork down the stairs, and the tone becomes less bustling salon and more calming oasis-style day spa, with four separate treatment rooms complete with low light, candles and plush service beds.

Maximize time with the Stylus Celebrity Treatment, a tandem service performed by two aestheticians (75 minutes, $215). A facial and pedicure are perfectly synchronized so that a thorough, relaxing facial massage takes place simultaneously with an expert leg-and-foot massage.

Stylus also offers waxing ($10-$85), tinting ($25-$35), manicures and pedicures ($35-$65), makeup lessons ($60) and bridal services ($85-$400). The products featured at the salon are top shelf: organic, paraben-free products by Kimberly Sayer, Susan Posnick and Kevin Murphy.

Stay tuned for more from the multifaceted space: This summer, Stylus will host a number of special events, including wedding and engagement spa parties, hair boot camps and a "Sex and the City" ladies night.
