Vain whacks the price of cuts for walk-ins

Short of cash or tired of spending $80 for a haircut? The hip Belltown salon Vain offers $15 haircuts most days for walk-ins. "There's almost always a stylist available for walk-ins," says owner Victoria Gentry. Haircuts are typically $28 to $60. Late-night hours provide even more flexibility for a cut and run. The salon is open until 8 p.m. Sunday through Tuesday, until 10 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, and until 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday. It also offers new services such as lash extensions ($75) and makeup application ($30). Shop around while you're there. The expanded boutique area is well stocked with jewelry, hair accessories, candles, cards, handbags and girlie makeup such as Lip Lingerie in pretty packaging.
