And now a word from the higher end of fashion: upcoming events at Nordstrom.

If it’s the kind of thing you follow, you’re sure to have heard that Michelle Obama wore a one-shoulder, full-length white gown from designer Jason Wu for the Inaugural Ball. Wu is a 26-year-old New York-based designer whose spring line will be at the Downtown Nordstrom Jan. 28 for a trunk show from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. on the second floor. Nordstrom is the exclusive retailer to carry the Spring 2009 Jason Wu collection in Seattle.

If you missed the 3.1 Phillip Lim Spring 2009 trunk show on Thursday, Jan. 22, you can still catch the Oscar de la Renta Spring 2009 trunk show on Jan. 29 and 30 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., on the second floor of the Downtown store. These events are a great place for a girl to go to plan out her dream wardrobe.
