Dad doesn't want another boring tie—so give him one with a little bite. These bug ties by Los Angeles designer Karyn Hutchinson are certain to add style to the fashionable man's wardrobe. The ties feature silk-screen prints of insects including dust mites, stink bugs, and something with a mean stinger (please forgive the gaps in my entomological vocabulary). Hutchinson hand-sews each tie using vintage and new fabrics in rayon, silk, and linen. She also designs ties with other images she finds in antiquated medical texts and dictionaries under her Limb Factory label. Ties are $40 and available at Presence, Art of Living on Capitol Hill. Custom designs can be ordered directory from Hutchinson by contacting her at limbfactory@aol.com.
If you're not into creepy crawly things, check out the stainless steel clip watches with compass and night light. Clip them on your belt buckle, cargo pants, or purse strap. They come in a silver or gold finish for just $38.
