Find the perfect fit in denim by Redmond-based Pine IV

October 10, 2006

Pine IV

Girls who want great-fitting jeans should check out Pine IV, a line of denim out of Redmond. First, the jeans aren't too low; they come to just four fingers below the belly button. Second, they've got just the right amount of stretch to be comfortable, but they don't bag out. Finally, they seem, well, accommodating, whether you've got a little excess junk in the trunk or an abdomen that isn't perfectly flat.

For fall there are three styles in a range of dark, contemporary washes: Suki, a straight leg skinny jean that isn't so skinny you have to tug on them; the best-selling Kyoto style with flapped back pockets for just the right amount of booty embellishment; and the boot-cut Harumi with simple back pockets that work well with longer shirts and sweaters.

Laurie Barokas, brand manager of Pine IV, says their popularity comes from their fit. "It really is all about the fit," she says. "People want to be comfortable. They love the stretch, feel of the denim, the 'memory' of the jeans. They fit the same way every time, no matter if you've washed them or not."

Prices range from $165 to $200. You'll find them at Riveted, Horseshoe, La Rousse, Louie Permelia, Dream, Tatters, and other boutiques.
