Retroactive Kids, which relocated from West Seattle to Columbia City last year, is the epitome of crafty chic. The selection of vintage and hipster clothes is mingled with educational and zany toys, with lots fun stuff like monkey hats made by local parents.
Turns out, they can teach you and your children to be crafty too. They are offering some great classes this month, including a Valentine's Day crochet tutorial, in which they will introduce you to hook skills through the creation of hearts. For more advanced crocheters, they are offering a class on making super-cute little stuffed creatures for your loved ones.
Later this month, they will be starting a toddler and parent art class, as well as a class titled "Exploring Art," for children ages 7-11. They are in the middle of a session of "Super Sewing," in which young designers learn to construct the sewn object of their dreams, from sketch through final project. I wanna go!
For more on their awesome offerings, keep an eye on their blog.
