Little ones shine in bibs, blankets and bassinets from Baby Star

If you have a baby shower on the calendar or a little one at home, check out our latest discovery: Baby Star, a Portland-based baby accessories company that we think is worth a look.
Founder Dana Bach Johnson launched the company in 2004 after the birth of her first son. She and her husband dusted off their sewing machine and began making bibs and other baby essentials that were both hip and soft enough for their little bundle of joy.
Today, Baby Star's line of bibs, burp cloths and blankets – ranging from $14 to $72 – not only passes the cool test with patterns like "confetti," "cotton candy" and "funky flower," it's also made from 100 percent cotton and formaldehyde-free fabrics, which we love.
New to the 2007 product lineup are Baby Star's super-chic Cariboo Bassinets ($360). Available in several adorable fabric options, the bassinets are made from sustainable wood and promise to comfort baby and do something that many standard bassinets can't: look great in your living room.
Baby Star products are available online at www.babystar.com or at Essenza, Ballard Mail and Dispatch and The Land of Nod. During the month of February, Baby Star is offering a "Sweetheart Special." Buy a blanket and get a free matching burp cloth (offer is available online only).
