Save on cycles, gear and gadgets April 24-May 3 at Gregg's stores

There's a first time for everything, even if it takes 76 years. Gregg's Cycle, which opened in 1932, is holding its first-ever storewide sale April 24 through May 3. The aptly named "Have Some Fun Sale" will take place at all three Gregg's locations: Greenlake, Bellevue and Lynnwood.
"Everyone is so doom-and-gloom these days, we just want people to go have some fun and ride a bike," says advertising and promotions manager Jeremy McKinley. "We've never done a sale like this before, and it's just a nice thing to offer."
Given Gregg's big inventory, there's a good chance you'll find a deal on a new set of wheels, whether you're a commuter, a mountain biker or a touring enthusiast. Save up to 40 percent on select 2008 and 2009 bikes from brands such as Trek, Specialized and Gary Fisher.
The sale also includes cycling accessories like sophisticated GPS units, baskets, bells and streamers. Clothing, helmets, bags and shoes will be marked down at least 10 percent, says McKinley, with select items discounted up to 50 percent. In light of our continued chilly weather, last winter's riding jacket might be a very handy purchase, if you happen to spy one on the sale rack.
All locations will be open regular hours, and extra staff and factory reps will be on hand to answer questions. Gregg's brings in discounted inventory just a few days before the sale kicks off, so McKinley couldn't provide me with a specific "what's-on-sale" list. You'll just have to get on your bike and hit the store in person.
