Suit up for Seafair in sailor-themed apparel from local boutiques

Seafair, Seattle's quintessential summertime celebration, culminates July 31-Aug. 2 with the Chevrolet Cup hydroplane races and KeyBank air show, which take place on and above Lake Washington. In honor of the annual festival, I searched the city's boutiques to find sailor-themed apparel to help you rock the boat in style.
Fashion jewelry, $19.95 at Aprie
Show off your love of
the ocean (or lake) with this multi-layered chain necklace. The starfish and shell
charms embrace the beauty beneath the sea, while the sunset-colored blue and
orange charms reflect the allure at the water's surface.
Forme Premium shorts, $58 at Bliss
These shorts are so
perfect for a summer day on a boat that Forme Premium named them "Sailor Shorts."
The linen and rayon blend is light and comfortable, and the silver-and-white
buttons lend a little glamour.
Ella Moss tank, $76.90 at Mercer
Nothing beats a
discount, so I browsed the sale rack at Mercer in University Village
and struck gold with the "Catalina Tunic" tank, originally $96. The blue-and-white-striped cotton tank with wooden embellishments is wrinkle-resistant, so you
can toss it in your beach bag before you throw it on over a bathing suit.
Salinas bathing suit, $145 at Tininha's Butique de Biquini
Tininha's in Fremont has so many
stylish swimsuits that you won't have to worry about someone else in the
Seafair crowd wearing one just like yours. My favorite beach-inspired suit is
the Lycra surfboard bikini by Salinas.
The colorful suit has a flattering cut and a fun mixture of prints.
Twisted Heart hoodie, $157 at Tininha's Butique de Biquini
When the sun goes down,
keep the chills at bay with this terry cloth and cotton blue-and-white-striped
zip hoodie by Twisted Heart. Rhinestone anchor embellishments on the arm and
zipper add just a touch of sparkle.

Post a commentYou don't want an outfit to be totally sailorish, it's too cliche. Also, don't wear a striped shirt with a striped hoodie, and a necklace like that is too loud with that tank top.
