We're a food-conscious group here in Seattle. We raise chickens in our
backyards so that we have access to fresh eggs and mash up carrots to
make our own baby food. So it makes sense that we would be just as
mindful of the food that we feed to our furry friends

If I had a pet, it would be a French bulldog named Otis, and I like to think that he would have the fashion sense of, say, Andre 3000 or Kanye West. And when I went in search of the stylish clothes I would dress him in, I would head to Buster & Sullivan, the new dog boutique at University Village.

The latest addition to Fremont's collection of pet stores is geared toward the practical needs of active companions. Petapoluza leaves the leopard-print carriers and rhinestone collars to boutique neighbors such as Railey's Leash & Treat and focuses on a broad selection of healthy food and treats, as well as accessories for dogs on the go and a holistic vet who's in-house on Fridays.

Scraps are the last thing you'll get your dog at this new pet supply store located above the Whole Foods store on Denny Way. The tag line is a better descriptor: "healthy grub & cool gear." The shop carries nine premium lines of all-natural pet food for dogs and cats, some of it organically certified. They even have a raw diet for your health-conscious furry friend. Owners Dave Figueroa and Richard Vander Meer are serious about putting the best food on your dog's table. "We can assist people with many of their pet's issues through diet," says Figueroa. "If they have allergies, there are foods we can recommend."
